On February 24, 2023, the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) announced proposed new rules for prescribing testosterone online after PHE expires.
Over the last three years, the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency (PHE) waiver allowed men to receive testosterone prescriptions through telemedicine. An in-person medical consultation was not a requirement.
After November 11, 2023, the DEA proposes new rules for prescribing testosterone online. These rules say online testosterone prescriptions can continue as long as patients have an in-person visit with their medical provider. This is a one-off visit to establish care, after which refills, consults and changes to your scripts can continue online as usual.
How Does the New Testosterone Telemedicine Rule Affect You?
